811’s Marketing Efforts help the Damage Prevention Industry

For the second year in a row, the 811 Community and Damage Prevention industry has benefited from the CGA’s advertising efforts. Jockey, Victor Espinoza, shows his dedication of 811 by using the logo on his hat, boots and saddle.
Victor Espinoza rode to victory in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes earning the unprecedented Triple Crown victory! This has provided the Damage Prevention industry with the most national exposure it has ever received. Between the Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont, more than 27.8 million viewers watched Victor take first place in all 3 races while wearing 811 on his boots and saddle – not to mention his iconic 811 hat worn in pre- and post-race interviews.
The exposure earned for 811 in the 3 races totaled more than a combined five minutes of the NBC broadcast and would have cost $4.3 million to purchase as advertising. While Victor’s attempt at the Triple Crown victory has made it cost-prohibitive for CGA and its members to continue 811’s sponsorship of him through the Belmont Stakes, they were extremely grateful for the opportunity to once again work with Victor this year as he rode 811 to glory as the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years!
811’s agreement with Victor for 2015 did not include the Belmont Stakes, but the 811 Community and Damage Prevention Industry will continue to reap benefits from being associated with him in all of his other races for the remainder of this year.
